The income level of coffee farmers shall be raised as stated by the National Coordinator in his speech. He added that the living conditions of the entire region shall be improved thanks to the creation of decent jobs. Arabica coffee shall enjoy better exposure to the world with the creation of a label. Alongside cocoa in Mbalmayo, Douala and Kekem, the Agropole of Coffee production, processing
marketing in the North-West shall contribute to reducing the deficit in the country’s trade balance. Actually, the nation is caught in the battle to reverse the import trend of agricultural and forestry products such as rice, corn, chicken, pork and fish. The cry has always been that Cameroon’s coffee is famous for its aroma. Unfortunately, it is hardly enjoyed at home. This Agropole is now providing an opportunity for Cameroonians to consume home-grown coffee.
